Lady Parsons lose in ACCC Tourney

North Division No. 1 seed Shelton State of Tuscaloosa crushed North No. 5 seed Snead State 92-46 on Wednesday afternoon in the women’s quarterfinals of the ACCC Basketball Tournament at Lawson State.

BIRMINGHAM — North Division No. 1 seed Shelton State of Tuscaloosa crushed North No. 5 seed Snead State 92-46 on Wednesday afternoon in the women's quarterfinals of the ACCC Basketball Tournament at Lawson State.

The Lady Parsons finished with a 16-15 record on the 2018-19 season.

Shelton State shot 53.6 percent from the field to Snead State's 33.3 percent. The Bucs dominated the boards, outrebounding the Lady Parsons 36-20.

Tiyah Johnson and LaTascya Duff both scored 23 points while Ataiya Bridges netted 22 to power Shelton State's offense.

Catlin Carter's eight points led the Lady Parsons. Tamia Willingham-King tossed in seven while Crossville's Cassie McDaniel, Jerreca Browning and Valencia McCain all contributed six.

Antania Hayes added five, Jasmine Branford four and JeNya Wilder and Mia Creech both two.
