Tennis Team Headed to Nationals

The Snead State Community College women's tennis team earned an invitation to the NJCAA National Championship after finishing third in the ACCC Region 22 Tournament held April 12-13 in Alexander City.

The National Tournament started May 5 in Tyler, Texas. A total of 32 teams were represented, including four from Alabama and Region 22.

Snead State finished the tournament in 22nd place, earning seven points during the tournament.

Kaitlyn Williams from Boaz earned three points to advance to the final eight in the six singles main draw.

Elaina Holt from Guntersville, playing in the five singles, earned two points winning the consolation draw.

Macklyn Hubbard from Sardis playing in the three singles, earned two points winning a match in the main draw.

Other team members are Bailey Bowman from Sardis, Ashton Downey from Southside, Jessie Grifith and Katie Hill from Cherokee County, Meagan Moore from Albertville and Erica Roman from Hartselle.
