After the Nov. 21 game against Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, the SSCC Men's Team, led by Coach Jeremiah Patterson, has a 4-5 overall record with noteworthy wins against Calhoun Community College and Florida Gateway.
Nov. 12: Snead State 77, Calhoun 75
In a thrilling contest, the Parsons edged Calhoun Community College. Despite being outscored 50-44 in the second half, Snead State's first-half dominance (33-25) secured the win.
Davyon Butler of Meadeville, Penn., scored 26 points, including 12-15 from the free-throw line. Terrell Wright of Atlanta, Ga., dominated the boards, collecting 13 rebounds and contributing 16 points. Josiah Harding of Riverview, Fla., added 16 points and 4 rebounds, including two critical three-pointers.
Nov. 15: Snead State 83, Florida Gateway 70
The Parsons showcased their offensive prowess with a balanced attack, outscoring Florida Gateway 48-37 in the second half. Butler delivered another strong performance with 21 points and 7 rebounds. Harding impressed with 19 points and 7 assists, orchestrating the offense masterfully. Jordyn Turner-Durley of Florence and Xavier Price of Reading, Penn., made significant contributions off the bench, combining for 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Under the leadership of new Head Coach Kenny Hill, the Lady Parsons, now 3-2 overall, delivered strong performances in recent matchups, highlighted by dominant wins against Roane State and Gadsden State.
Nov. 6: Snead State 90, Roane State 69
The Lady Parsons' offensive efficiency was on full display, shooting a remarkable 71.4% from the field. Tazi Harris of Guntersville led the charge with 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Jaleigh Devine of Attalla contributed 17 points off the bench, providing a spark with her perimeter shooting. Jadaya Edmonson of Scottsboro and La'Mya Mcgrue of Oxford combined for 22 points, adding critical energy on both ends.
Nov. 11: Snead State 79, Gadsden State 65
Balanced scoring and defensive intensity helped the Lady Parsons outlast Gadsden State. Harris was unstoppable in the post, tallying 27 points and 7 rebounds. Devine showcased her shooting ability again, finishing with 15 points. Kaitlyn Hill of Susan Moore and Mcgrue combined for 15 points and 7 assists, controlling the tempo of the game.
Nov. 18: Snead State 72, Gadsden State 50
In a rematch, the Lady Parsons dominated defensively, holding Gadsden State to just 7 points in the third quarter. Harris continued her stellar form with a double-double, and Skylar Lassiter of Hayden provided key minutes with energy and defense.
The next home match-up for the Parsons will be Dec. 3 against Chattahoochee Valley Community College. The women play at 5 p.m. and the men play at 7 p.m. at the Plunkett Wallace Gymnasium.
