Snead State Women's Golf Team Qualifies for NJCAA National Tournament
The Snead State Community College Women’s Golf Team secured a second-place finish at the NJCAA South District Golf Championship held Thursday, May 1, at Cider Ridge Country Club in Oxford, Alabama.
The Snead State Community College Women's Golf Team secured a second-place finish at the NJCAA South District Golf Championship held Thursday, May 1, at Cider Ridge Country Club in Oxford, Alabama.
The finish earned the team a spot in the NJCAA Division II Women's Golf National Championship, scheduled for May 13–16 at Cedar Point Golf Course in Boone, Iowa.
Sophomore Ashley Nelson of Lake City, Fla., freshmen Rachel Gattis of Jacksonville, Kyleigh Gibson of Smiths Station, and Marlee Hedgepeth of Alexandria will represent the Parsons at the National Tournament.
After Thursday's tournament, Nelson and Gibson were named to the All-District Team.
"I'm proud of how well this team has played this season," said Snead State Head Women's Golf Coach Shane Marshall. "The team's dedication and hard work have paid off."
Snead State President Dr. Joe Whitmore said, "The team's achievement reflects the excellence we strive for at Snead State, both in athletics and academics. The Lady Parsons have excelled this season, and we're excited to have them showcase their skill at the National Tournament."
