Lady Parsons pick up first win of Roden era against Coastal Alabama-North

BOAZ, Ala. – The Snead State Community College Women's Basketball team recently picked up its first win of the season in year one of the Craig Roden era.

On Thursday, Nov. 30, the Lady Parsons defeated Coastal Alabama-North 52-48 at home. Snead State led 18-10, 29-19 and 36-32 at quarter breaks. The victory was the first with Roden back at the program's helm. Roden previously served as head coach of the Lady Parsons from 1980-84.

The Lady Parsons are now 1-11 (1-0 ACCC) with three games remaining before the winter break begins and conference play ramps up.

Up next for Snead State is a road game at Wallace State on Thursday, Dec. 14. The Lady Parsons return home Friday, Dec. 15, to host Motlow State. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

Through 12 games, Snead State is averaging 43.5 points per game, 10.2 rebounds per game and 4.1 assists per game. The Lady Parsons are shooting 32.1% from the field, including 26.7% from 3PT, and 65.4% from the free throw line.

Jamiyah Hill, a freshman from Hoover, leads the team with 14.2 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. La'Mya McGrue, a freshman from Oxford, leads the team with 3.8 steals per game.
