Snead State Rolls into Season Home Stretch on a High

As the 2021 volleyball season enters the home stretch, Snead State is on a roll, winning 15 of its last 17 matches.

Coach Angie Sanders' squad hopes that good fortune continues for the remainder of the regular season and into postseason. The ACCC State Tournament is scheduled for Nov. 4-7 at Wallace-Hanceville.

The Lady Parsons are 19-5 overall and tied for second in the Alabama Community College Conference standings at 14-1.

Snead currently has won four straight after beating Southern Union State 3-1 on Monday and Wallace-Selma 3-0 Wednesday. Snead's only conference loss was a 3-1 loss at Wallace-Hanceville on September 19.

Several Lady Parsons rank high in the ACCC statistical charts. Freshman Stephanie Sharp of New Market leads the conference in service aces with 59 and assists per set with 10.53. She also is fifth in digs with 255. Sophomore outside hitter Katy Schroeder of Huntsville is second in the conference in kills with 284 and kills per set with 3.69. Sophomore Kaitlyn Woodall of Fyffe is third in digs per set with 4.81.

Snead has two huge home matches coming up this weekend - hosting Wallace-Selma Friday (Wallace-Selma is tied for second with Snead) and conference leader Wallace-Hanceville Sunday.
