Snead State Volleyball’s 2023-24 season ends in ACCC Tournament
BOAZ, Ala. - As the Snead State Women's Volleyball Team's 2023-24 season recently came to a close, a pair of Lady Parsons were presented postseason honors.
The Lady Parsons finished the year 22-18 overall and 7-5 in ACCC play.
In the ACCC Championship Tournament held Nov. 3-5 in Mobile, Snead State lost in the opening round to Enterprise State 3-0, but bounced back with a 3-0 victory against Coastal Alabama-North. But on Day Two, the Lady Parsons were defeated 3-1 by Lurleen B. Wallace and eliminated from the tournament.
"We did not finish like we would have liked to in the conference tournament, but they played so hard," said Head Coach Cristie Brothers. "I am proud of them for competing until the very last point. This was a great team...great girls and great athletes.  I am so sad to lose our Sophomores!  They are such a good bunch and I love them all.  We will miss them so much.  But I am also excited to see the Freshmen come back along with our new recruits and see what they will accomplish next year."
Following postseason play, sophomore Lilly Rowell and freshman Jaleigh DeVine were recognized with all-conference honors.
Rowell, who ranked third in the ACCC for Kills (421) and fifth for Points (461), was named to the ACCC All-Tournament Team and All-ACCC North Second Team.
DeVine was named to the All-ACCC First-Team and All-ACCC North First Team. She was second in the ACCC in Kills (429) and fourth in Points (483).
"Lilly and Jaleigh were definitely our power players," Brothers said. "They had a lot of pressure on them because they knew the team needed them to put the ball away.  Sometimes they put too much pressure on themselves.  I am proud of both for finishing the season by playing well in the conference tournament.  Both are very talented girls."
Other statistical leaders for the Parsons were Jaden Dismuke, who finished the year with 566 Digs – the second-most in the ACCC; and Alena Godwin, who was third in the ACCC in Service Aces per set (0.63).
As a team, the Lady Parsons averaged 2.34 Service Aces per set (1st in the ACCC), 17.45 Digs per set (1st), 11.23 Kills per set (4th), a .162 Hitting Percentage (8th), 9.58 Assists per set (5th) and 1.27 Blocks per set (12th).
