Gerald Gray, Jr., had 32 points for the Parsons in Snead State's 73-69 win in overtime against Wallace-Selma in the quarterfinals of the ACCC Tournament.

It was a defensive battle turned offensive shootout at the Umphrey Center in Tuscaloosa as the fourth-seeded Snead State Parsons took down the no. 1 seed Wallace-Selma Patriots 73-67 Wednesday in overtime of the quarterfinals of the ACCC/NJCAA Region XXII Division I basketball tournament.

"I think we played an excellent defensive game," said Snead State Head Coach Jeremiah Patterson. "It was an unbelievable college basketball game."

Gerald Gray Jr. had 32 points for the Parsons, going 5-of-9 from the 3-point line.

Jason King netted 16 points and five rebounds. Ralph Barrnett had 12 points and nine rebounds for Snead State.

With 24 seconds to go in the game, Wallace-Selma's Jamar Jackson hit a 3-point shot to put the Patriots up 58-57. With 12 seconds to go, King made the layup and was fouled. He made both foul shots to put the Parsons out front 60-58. A layup by Wallace-Selma tied the game at 60 and sent the two teams into overtime.

The Parsons biggest lead of the night came during overtime on an eight point run of foul shots. The Parsons shot 8-of-10 from the freethrow line during overtime.

Snead State will now advance to take on Bevill State Community College at 5 p.m. Thursday. The Parsons have faced Bevill State twice this season. Both games were close battles with Bevill State edging out 65-63 and 63-60 wins.

"We have to come out and play the same game we've been playing," said King. "We have to come in like we've never played them before."

The winner of the Snead/Bevill game will advance to the finals of the tournament on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
